Digital Luggage Scales - Don't Leave The Country Without Them

With airlines being so strict on excess baggage weight I was concious of the fact that I needed to be certain we do not exceed the limit when we arrive at the airport check-in. I do not want the hassle or embarrassment of having to re pack my suitcases, in full view of everyone else, as if we don't know what we are doing.

The only way to keep track of the weight of our suitcases, or so I thought until now, was by using the bathroom scales at home. But how accurate are they? In any case, I shall need to weigh the baggage before we come home as well, just to be sure we are still within the weight limit. Its the airlines scales that matter, not the accuracy of my bathroom scales.

We had a look round for a solution to the problem, and found some digital luggage scales
, which seem ideal for us. My only concerns are, how accurate are they, and shall I be able to lift up to 40 Kilograms in weight?

In reply to my first concern, I read a review which says the accuracy of these digital luggage scales was the same as the Ryanair scales, on the day when the person checked in and their suitcases were weighed. That put my mind at rest about that.

Would I be able to lift the suitcase off the floor far enough to weigh it? Apparently, what you do is attach a strap to the suitcase, lift the scales, and you're done. I thought if I can't lift the suitcase myself without risking an injury, its most probably over the limit anyway. There again I could always ask someone else to lift it for me.
